The Alpin Palace Muerren (1650m) is situated on a sheltered, sunny balcony, high above Lauterbrunnen Valley, just beyond Piz Gloria (2970m) and 18km from Interlaken. The 3 peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can be seen and appear almost close enough to touch. The village of Muerren is one of the few spa resorts worldwide without any car traffic, accessible only by cableway in 10 minutes or by train in 20 minutes.
